Speedglas 9000 / 9002 Fresh-air guide: identify the parts and choose a next step
LAST UPDATED 2026-09-14
The period 3M catalogue documents Speedglas 9000/9002 respiratory helmets configured with either Fresh-air C supplied air or legacy Adflo powered air. It is useful for identifying the original parts. It does not prove that a part is available today, that a surviving combination retains approval, or that a current component can replace an old one.
Use this page to read the old numbers, then follow the linked evidence record for the exact component. Each claim carries its evidence level under our labelling system.
What the archive proves — and what it does not
The archived catalogue is a 3M product-era parts list. It supports the part names and numbers below. We have not found a current 3M document that gives a blanket replacement path for every 9000/9002 Fresh-air or legacy Adflo configuration.
Do not read a catalogue entry, marketplace listing or retailer category as proof of current stock, condition, interchangeability or approval. For workplace use, the person responsible for the RPE programme needs the exact unit label and the original approval/user documentation for the complete configuration.
The part numbers you’re actually hunting
We hold the official 3M Speedglas catalogue parts list from the product’s supported era (archived; period document — authoritative for identifying parts, not for current availability). These are the exact numbers for the respiratory-protection versions of the 9000/9002:
| Part no. | What it is |
|---|---|
| 43 30 00 | Headband WITH air duct — the scarce one |
| 43 30 10 | Air duct alone |
| 43 30 60 | Headband without air duct |
| 43 40 01 | Face seal |
| 43 50 00 | Air spreader |
| 46 08 00 | Speedglas 9000 shield for respiratory protection (no welding filter) |
| 44 28 00 | Speedglas 9000 FlexView shield for respiratory protection |
| 40 00 40 / 70 / 80 | Speedglas 9002D / 9002V / 9002X welding filters |
| 42 80 xx | Inner protection plates (9000F/9002V and 9002X/9000XF variants) |
Search the exact number, including both spaced and unspaced forms. Then compare the product label and condition with the relevant record; a matching listing title alone is not identification or approval evidence.
What our records currently cover
- Air-duct assembly: 433000 is the complete headband with air duct; 433010 is the duct alone. The retailer evidence attached to 433000 was checked on 6 July 2026 and showed the item unavailable with a stock-notification option. It does not establish stock today.
- Shield-side parts: 434001 is the face seal, 435000 the air spreader, 460800 the standard respiratory-protection shield without welding filter, and 442800 the FlexView respiratory-protection shield.
- Legacy Adflo batteries: 837620 is the standard NiMH-era battery in the period catalogue. Its record contains the dated supersession evidence and separates EMEA from US numbering. Identify the blower and charger generation before following that chain; this guide does not assert that a current battery or charger fits an unidentified unit.
- Fresh-air C parts: the period catalogue lists filter element 85 90 01, gasket kit 85 90 04 and 85 20/21-series regulators. We have not verified a current supply or service route for those exact items.
Decide the next step from evidence
- Read the model and part numbers from the helmet, air source, battery, charger and breathing tube. Use the Speedglas identifier if you are unsure which generation you have.
- Open the exact linked part record and check its region, evidence date and status. Do not substitute a visually similar part or a retailer alias.
- For workplace RPE, have the complete configuration checked against its approval label and user instructions. If those cannot be identified, ask 3M UK technical support or the competent person responsible for the RPE programme before returning it to service.
- If an exact documented part is unavailable or a required component is damaged, compare a current respiratory welding system through 3M’s current catalogue and the Adflo system record. That is a route for evaluation, not a claim that replacement is always required.
Stop and get the configuration checked when
- any identity or approval label is missing or unreadable;
- the face seal, air duct, hose, shield or air source is damaged or incomplete;
- the airflow/alarm checks in the correct user instructions cannot be completed; or
- the only proposed replacement depends on an adapter, modification or an undocumented cross-generation pairing.
This site cannot assess the condition of your equipment. Do not use an old parts list as evidence that a damaged or incomplete respirator is ready for service.
Help us make this page better
If you hold original 9000/9002 Fresh-air user instructions or an approval label that is missing from this record, use the disclosed UK/US store contact routes and identify the model/part number and region. We will only turn it into a compatibility claim after the source and complete configuration have been verified.
Evidence level for this page: part numbers are from an official 3M Speedglas catalogue parts list from the product era, archived in this project and verified for identification only. The one retailer observation is dated in the 433000 record and is not a current-stock claim. Battery supersession details remain in the region-specific structured records rather than being generalised here.
