What is Power Cap Active IP?

Updated 2026-07-07

JSP PowerCap Active IP is a variant of JSP’s entry-level powered air respirator (PAPR). It uses a firm-fitting, self-contained headtop built around JSP’s Hardcap A1+ bump-cap shell, powered by an 8-hour PowerBox1 battery and rated EN 12941 TH1P at 160 l/min airflow, with the bump-cap shell itself certified EN 812 A1+.

The “IP” designation marks the difference from the standard PowerCap Active: instead of a non-impact visor, the IP variant fits a rivet-mounted polycarbonate faceshield certified to EN 166 for impact protection, for users facing flying-particle risks alongside dust. The IP kit ships with two TH1P filters and one PowerBox1 battery pack.

Both variants share the same filter, pre-filter pad and PowerBox1 battery/charger accessories, but use distinct visors and face seals. This is a separate product line from JSP’s higher-spec PowerCap Infinity, which uses a different helmet shell and spares numbering — the two are not interchangeable.

Always confirm the approval status and classification on your unit’s own label before use.
