Are CleanSpace respirators comfortable to wear?

Updated 2026-07-07

Comfort is subjective, so we won’t claim a verdict — but our records do hold specific design facts relevant to comfort that are worth knowing before you buy.

CleanSpace’s CST PRO architecture is distinct from a hose-and-belt PAPR: the blower sits directly on the half-mask, with no belt pack and no connecting hose, and the manufacturer states the on-mask unit weighs under 400 g. Per the datasheets, the half-mask itself weighs roughly 120–140 g depending on size, and the head harness weighs around 29–35 g, in three adjustable sizes (Short/Medium/Long). The blower uses CleanSpace’s “AirSensit” adaptive airflow, adjusting output to the wearer’s breathing.

Important standards point: this is a tight-fitting half-mask system, certified EN 12942 TM3 — not a loose-fitting hood/helmet like EN 12941 systems. Tight-fitting masks require face-fit testing to confirm the seal works for your face shape, which is a different consideration from “comfort” and applies regardless of how the mask feels when first tried on. If comfort and correct fit both matter for your use, arrange a proper fit test and try the unit before committing.
